In the night of April 16-17, activists covered the main building of Scioteq in Kortrijk in red paint. In doing so they aim to shed light on the complicity of the company in the genocide of the Palestinian people. This action takes place as part of a series of other actions, in Belgium and beyond, to denounce the role the arms industry plays in the war crimes committed in Palestine. Activists refuse to let companies in Belgium profit from the massacre of Palestinian people.
Scioteq produces screens and monitors at military end in Kortrijk. These monitors are sold, among other companies, to the Israeli arms company Elbit Systems. Elbit Systems is the largest private Israeli arms company and produces more than half of the equipment of the Israel Occupation Forces (IOF). Elbit's profits have skyrocketed since the start of the genocide. In 2025, Francesca Albanese published a report for the United Nations showing the crucial role of Elbit in the genocide and occupation of Palestine.
Scioteq is making this possible by providing Elbit Systems with monitors used in the Elbit Hermes plane. Scioteq also provides monitors for American drones Predator and Reaper. Scioteq's involvement is clearly visible in Elbit's videos showcasing their weapons, but also in IOF videos where one can see how the screens produces in Kortijk are used to drive drones in Gaza. Scioteq's complicity can't be denied.
Activists will not accept that this company can pursue its activities in Belgium without sanctions. They refuse to let this company keep on providing crucial components to Elbit Systems and IOF, ignoring the military embargo against Israel imposed by Belgium. This collaboration violates international law and is simply immoral and inhumane.
This is the twelfth action of the Shut Down Elbit campaign. We call on all those who refuse complicity to increase actions against Elbit-OIP and its partners. End the impunity. Break the war machine.
