The genocide of the Palestinian people by Israel continues in a deafening silence. Israel extends its colonial project in Gaza and the West Bank, while Trump's Peace Council prevents any possibility for Palestinian self-determination. Our solidarity cannot waiver. We cannot let this issue drop from the political discussion and media cycle.
An essential cog in the Israeli war machine, Elbit Systems, is present in Belgium. Its subsidiary, OIP Sensor Systems, is a Trojan horse at the heart of the Israeli military strategy in Europe.
Elbit must leave Belgium immediately. Any collaboration with OIP-Elbit, public or private, with this company and its subsidiaries must end.
CALL FOR DECENTRALIZED ACTIONS
OIP-Elbit had already been targeted by several actions since the beginning of the genocide, and solidarity is being repressed actively. OIP-Elbit is suing 7 activists for blocking its company, and the verdict should be in 17 March. Activists are risking a fine of 65,000 euros.
Despite its scare tactics, Elbit is vulnerable. The company has a business agenda and political interests, subcontractors, offices, partners and suppliers. These are all opportunities for those who refuse complicity to show their solidarity with Palestine by disrupting their deadly business.
Direct actions work. In the UK, countless actions have forced three Elbit companies to close. Repression is faltering: the banning of the action group Palestine Action was overturned by a court, and a few weeks ago, 23 imprisoned activists were freed on bail, despite Israel's successful pressure to appoint judges, deeply embarrassing Elbit.
We call on all people who refuse complicity to organize actions against Elbit-OIP and its partners. We cannot count on the State to enforce a real military embargo on Israel. We must enforce a People's Embargo. Let's end impunity and break the war machine.
